Amidst celebration of International indigenous day in Dhaka, another online activist was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at his East Goran residence in the capital Friday afternoon. A group of four youths stabbed blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay (nick name—Niloy), 40, indiscriminately in his flat on the 4th floor of a five-storey building around 1:30pm, the victim’s wife Asha Moni told that one of the attackers, wearing jeans and black T-shirt, came in the guise of a tenant and requested Niladri, an employee of a non government organization , to show the space of their flat, Asha said. He was writing for women's rights, indigenous peoples, even for all other minorities. He was a critic of religious extremism that provoked bombing in mosques and killing thousands of civilians. This seminar was organized by the Indigenous Forum and Association for land reform and development. Khushi Kabir, Dr Dalim Chandra Barman, Shamsuddoha, Meghna Guha Thakurata took part in the discussion. ON the other hand, International Day of Indigenous was celebrated by the Bangladesh Parliamentary Caucus on Indigenous Issues by arranging a views exchange meeting and cultural events. On Friday afternoon, the function held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University where Awami League organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP said what Muzib, founder of the country initiated to do welfare to the indigenous people will continue to achieve the goal.
