Naga people end their armed struggle after two decades

After an armed struggle of two decades, Nagaland people at last, reached a peace accord with the Indian government in the presence of Premier Narendra Modi in New Delhi. On Monday, both the highest official of central government and NSCN (I-M) officials signed the peace treaty stretching hope of peace and tranquility across the state. Terming the treaty as an important event, Modi said, it is not only ending conflict, but also beginning of a new future of state building. People of all strata hope the same saying; government and the opposition unitedly heal wounds by resolving problems and standing issues. Naga people Incept of British rule in India, have been passing their days in deprivation and negligence. In 1947, the rule ended, but the deprivation and negligence did not stop. From six decades, the people in Nagaland are striving to mitigate the disparity and backwardness, however the politicians always were indifferent to them. Nagaland is rich in natural resources such as coal, natural gas, decorative stones, petroleum, nickel, cobalt-chromium and Agri-products, etc. and the peace accord will help Nagaland realize its true potential of economic growth. Tourism is another area, which will hugely, benefited by peace accord and contribute to the growth and prosperity of Nagaland, the neutral observers said so. The rulers by design always kept the Nagas isolated and insulted. They propagated terrible myths on Nagas in the rest of the union.
