Incompetence of Saudi authorities lead the disastrous catastrophe

by Shamsul Basunia

Saudi authorities have been criticized after their utter negligence to take care the pilgrims. This negligence brought Thursday’s deadliest stampede during the hajj ritual of stoning devils at the tent city of Mina. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council accused the incompetence of Saudi authorities saying they have no right to serve the Muslim Ummah. Iran urged them to take responsibility for the deaths.

Nigeria has dismissed remarks by the Saudi health minister blaming pilgrims for not following instructions. The authorities have no way to avoid their responsibility to discharge the pilgrims. King Salman has ordered a safety review for the Hajj pilgrimage after the crash occurred at 09:00 local time Thursday as two million pilgrims were taking part in the rite.
The pilgrims throw seven stones at pillars called Jamarat, which stand at the place where devil is believed to have tempted the Prophet Abraham. With temperatures around 46C, two massive lines of pilgrims converged on each other at right angles at an intersection close to the five-storey Jamarat Bridge in Mina, a large valley about 5 kilometers from Makkah.
This was the deadliest incident during the pilgrimage in 25 years. The stampede came barely two weeks after a construction crane collapse crushed 109 people at the Makkah Grand Mosque.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said on Thursday that Saudi mismanagement and improper actions have caused this catastrophe. Iran has declared three days of national mourning.
The Saudis have spent billions on improving transport and other infrastructure since the last major Hajj incident nine years ago. The millions of pilgrims who come each year also bring billions of dollars to the Saudi economy.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayyef, who chairs the Hajj committee, has begun an immediate inquiry into the tragedy, with “fast” results promised.
The civil society delegates across the globe condemned this dire disastrous accident that happened at the time of Saudi prince's motorcade shuttling that pained the people most.
They added that 28 year-old Saudi prince Majed abdulaziz Al Saud was arrested
in United States on charges of sexual assault on Wednesday, only one day before the catastrophic incidence. He tried to force a female worker at a Beverly Hills estate to perform oral sex. The prince was arrested and later released on a $ 300000 bond the next day.
Los Angeles police officer Drake Madison said the prince is expected to make appear before the court on October 19. People across the globe desire not to repeat these sceneries once again. The humans intend to live in peace and stability making no compromise to anybody's whim and luster.
